Dear industry,

The theme for the Fall 2021 NATO Innovation Challenge is The invisible threat: Countering cognitive warfare and focuses on understanding and protecting the cognitive domain.  Some of you may already be aware, but the event is being co-led on behalf of the Department of National Defence (DND), by Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) and the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program.

NATO is looking for tools and measures to identify, assess and protect against attacks on NATO forces and NATO Allies in the cognitive domain.  Successful innovators will have the opportunity to pitch their best solutions and tools to a panel of experts from NATO countries.  On top of international exposure and cash prizes for the best solutions, this will offer a platform for innovators to speak to an engaged audience and make meaningful contacts with the international community.  Teams can submit to any aspect of the challenge and the solutions don’t need to be fully developed.  HQ SACT will look for ways to further develop the winners’ proposal.  Innovators will also maintain control over their intellectual property (IP).  For more information on eligibility, please visit the IDEaS program website.

The application process is now open and the deadline for entry is October 21, 2021.  Please share this challenge widely with your professional networks and contacts.  For more information, visit the NATO Innovation Challenge Page
